According to the Brownsville Herald, the Texas food stamp application process is currently under review. A lawsuit was filed against the state of Texas on behalf of several low income families because it apparantly takes longer than the 30 day food stamp application deadline to receive an approval or denial. Because of the delay, the United States Department of Agriculture has threatened to withdraw their funding of the Texas Food Stamps program. Hopefully the Texas Food Stamp program will not be interrupted because needy families will be negatively affected.
