Food Stamp Fraud in New Haven , CT?

According to an article written in the New Haven Register, there might be an organized effort to keep people from receiving Connecticut Food Stamps.

Apparently, when a person receives food stamps in Connecticut, they have to reapply every three months. However, a problem occurs shortly after they visit the Connecticut Department of Social Services to make their application...their food stamp benefits end.

Applicants contact their workers and they are told that their Connecticut food stamps have been cancelled because the department did not receive their application. Applicants have cited dates, and receipts but they are still told that they must wait for another 3 months to reapply.

Allegedly, this type of mayhem happens all of the time and there is no recourse...
