Jason the Surf Bum and his EBT Card

So, the Nazi Network, better known as Fox News, takes yet another stab at President Obama with their article/video "By the Way, Food Stamps Usage is Still on the Rise," by Guy Benson.

In this latest attack, Fox News takes to the streets of Southern California and talks to a guy named Jason.  The cameras follow as Jason speaks about how he is unwilling to work, and how his $200 a month in food stamps allow him to purchase gourmet foods like, what he refers to as, "EBT Lobsters."

Jason rides around in his Cadillac Escalade all day long and hangs out at the beach. Meanwhile, the Fox announcer starts laying down the statistics about how President Obama did away with the food stamp limitations when he signed the Stimulus Package in 2009.

The announcer states that before the Stimulus, under good old President Bush there were time limitations on how long a person could stay on food stamps.  There was a 3 month limitation for three years.  Now, under President Obama, a person can stay on food stamps for 6 months to a year at a time without any qualifications.

The article / video makes it look as though all people who are on food stamps are driving expensive SUVs and living the life off of the taxpayers.

Fox News fails to mention (like they somehow always do), that most of the people who are on food stamps are honest everyday people who either cannot find jobs that will pay them a living wage, or are under paid.  The majority of people who use SNAP Benefits do not "enjoy" living off of tax payers, and they certainly do not drive around in $50,000 SUVs.

The crazy thing is conservative republicans who support the Nazi Network, actually believe the utter nonsense that portrays the myth that most food stamp / welfare recipients
are bottom feeding, parasites who simply do not want to do better...  The funny thing about that is these are the same conservative republicans who usually believe they are smarter than the rest of us... Wow!

The only redeeming thing about this ridiculous piece of "journalism" from Fox News is the fact that this time they didn't go after an African American or Hispanic "welfare mom" to attempt to make their ridiculous "point".

Although Jason the beach bum may be proud to be "Unembarrassed about sponging off the rest of us," his story is nowhere near the case for the average food stamp recipient.
